Timothy Vogelaar is a Key Account Manager with AkzoNobel’s Yacht Coatings business, based in the Netherlands. Working across internationally recognised brands including Awlgrip, International, Interlux and Sea Hawk, he supports yacht builders and marine professionals with coating solutions for both above and below the waterline. With a background in engineering and management of technology from Delft University of Technology, Timothy has a particular interest in connecting innovation with practical customer and industry needs. His postgraduate research explored how digital service platforms could enhance customer experience and support digital transformation within the professional coatings market. In his current role, he works closely with yacht builders and subcontractors to improve production processes and in-service coating performance. His focus has expanded from the European superyacht market to emerging and growing yacht markets in Africa, where he shares technical knowledge with local marine professionals and supports the application of high-performance coating solutions. Timothy has also played an active role in sustainability at AkzoNobel, including serving as Chair of the company’s NextGen Sustainability Council. The initiative brings together emerging leaders from across the organisation to contribute new perspectives and practical ideas to AkzoNobel’s sustainability agenda. Combining technical knowledge, international superyacht experience and an interest in innovation and sustainability, Timothy brings a valuable perspective on the evolving needs and opportunities of the global yacht industry.
