Theo Loock is the Managing Director of Robertson and Caine, South Africa’s leading catamaran manufacturer, known for its Leopard brand. Since 2021, he has guided the company through a major transition, including its acquisition by Vox Ventures, a European investment firm and a subsidiary of the PPF Group. This acquisition represents one of the largest foreign direct investments in South Africa’s marine industry, reflecting global confidence in the region's boatbuilding capabilities. With a strong background in industrial engineering and executive roles in mining, automotive, and heavy manufacturing, Loock brings extensive experience to Robertson and Caine. His previous roles include CEO of Metair Investments and senior positions at Sasol Mining, Aveng, and Dorbyl. Passionate about craftsmanship and efficiency, he emphasises quality, innovation, and customer-centric design in the company's operations. Under Loock's leadership, Robertson and Caine has expanded production, operating ten facilities in Cape Town and employing over 2,300 staff. The company completed its 3,000th vessel, a Leopard 40 Powercat, known for design excellence and performance. Loock also focuses on workforce development, starting training for 145 new composite trainees to strengthen the local boatbuilding industry. His vision balances performance, comfort, and affordability, positioning Robertson and Caine as a global leader in high-quality catamarans.
