Mark Delany
Managing Director, Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing
Mark Delany is the Owner of Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing, one of Africa’s largest and most respected shipyards, based in Cape Town, South Africa. A second-generation boatbuilder, Mark grew up immersed in the marine industry after his father, Rod Delany, founded the company in 1989. After completing his studies in the United States, Mark returned to South Africa with a vision to expand the family business beyond its original roots. Under his leadership, Two Oceans has evolved into a globally recognised shipyard, delivering a diverse range of custom and semi production power and sailing catamarans, expedition vessels, commercial craft, passenger ferries, rescue boats, and luxury yachts for clients and various brands worldwide. Mark has played a key role in advancing South Africa’s reputation as a world-class boatbuilding destination. His commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and technical excellence has helped position Two Oceans at the forefront of composite vessel construction and has also driven the growth of the power and sailing catamaran sector in Southern Africa. Beyond commercial success, Mark is a passionate advocate for skills development, local manufacturing, and the broader maritime industry. Under his leadership, Two Oceans has partnered with organisations such as the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) to build next-generation offshore rescue vessels and support the growth of South Africa’s marine sector. Widely respected for his hands-on leadership style and deep understanding of vessel design and construction, Mark continues to oversee some of the most ambitious power and sail manufacturing projects emerging from Africa today, helping showcase South African boatbuilding expertise on the global stage.
