Lelani Labuscagne is a Director at CMI Brokers, a specialist short term insurance broker established in 1985. Independently owned by Caryne Duvenhage, whose roots in the marine and boating industry span a lifetime, this first-hand experience has shaped CMI Brokers’ understanding of the marine environment, its people, and businesses.   Lelani has worked in the financial services sector for over 19 years. With 13 years at CMI Brokers, she plays a key leadership role in the strategic direction, growth, and management of the business. Her responsibilities include underwriting management, insurer relationships, business development, client strategy, governance and compliance, and the leadership and development of teams.   Her experience covers watercraft, marine cargo, commercial and personal lines insurance, with a key focus on specialist risks faced by vessel owners, marine businesses, manufacturers, repairers, importers, and exporters. Lelani holds an NQF Level 5 Higher Certificate in Insurance and RE1 Key Individual qualification and is a member of the FIA, IISA and Gauteng Women’s Association.   She is passionate about developing people, delivering exceptional client service and building strong, long-term relationships. Her focus is on practical solutions to complex risks, sustainable growth and ensuring CMI Brokers remains compliant, technically strong, innovative, and responsive.
