Bruce Tedder is a stalwart of the South African marine industry, with a career spanning more than 25 years of building businesses and advocating for the local boatbuilding sector on the national and international stage. He is the founder of SABBEX (South African Boatbuilders Export Council) and served for many years as its Chairman, tirelessly lobbying on behalf of South African-built yachts and the industry as a whole. Bruce is currently CEO of Tedder Yachts, a yacht charter and brokerage business based at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, and a partner at Ocean 7 Charters, the South African distributor for Lagoon Catamarans. He is also the founder of the newly established Waterfront Houseboats, also based at the V&A Waterfront. Beyond his own ventures, Bruce is Co-Founder and Director of BlueCape NPC, a strategic partner to the City of Cape Town and the V&A Waterfront in developing the marine manufacturing, superyacht, and ocean sport sectors in the city. He also serves as Chairman of SAORT (South African Ocean Racing Trust), Chairman of the Hout Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, Trustee of the Hout Bay Youth Sailing Development Trust, and Co-Founder and Chairman of KiteBeach Windsports and Ocean Safety Club. At ABC 2025, Bruce will moderate the Boatbuilders session.
